285's on a 2017

Just got a 2017 Z71 Tahoe. I've always put 285 BFG AT's on all of my tahoes/pickup trucks but looking at the wheel well leaves me a little concerned on the new ones.

anyone put any on theirs? Any rubbing?

I'm running 285 bfg all terrains on my 2015 LT. no rubbing whatsoever. This is a photo from when Costco was nervous installing them since my Tahoe is still stock suspension

I've seen at least two other threads here where people have put 285/65-18 on the factory 18in wheel with a 2" front leveling kit. I think it is a big improvement over the stock look and they reported no rubbing.

TxjakeCA....how's the ride on the E rated 285 BFG's? I'm looking to level and go with that tire when I purchase mine. Any comparison to the ride on the stock tires that you can offer?

Not to go off topic but we just put 33" BFG TKO2s on our 09 silverado 2500. Had the opportunity to take it out in about 6" of snow yesterday. Fantastic tire in the snow. Tire is quiet on the highway and handles fairly well.

Am definitely considering leveling our '16 suburban z71 and going with the BFGs when I need tires in about a year.

It's definitely louder braking on a downhill but hitting potholes or big speed bumps is a lot smoother than the stock tires were. The fuel mileage went down considerably putting these on.

The 285/65-18 or the 275/70-18 will work leveled from what the dealer has told me. The 275 is approx .5in taller but narrower by about the same, and opens up some other options aside from bfg....like Nitto Ridge grapplers and Michelin defender m/s.

I gave you bad info, im running 275/70r18's. before I put them on I would average about 16 mpg with a high of 24.5 on a trip to Florida. Just drove cross country with these in January and never got above 18.5. My average now in San Diego is 13-15. 15 on the really really good days and I always put premium in it. It's dirty in the pics just wanted to show you what it looks like w/o a leveling kit. Doesn't rub whatsoever and I beat it up on that speed bump you see in the pic everyday! Hope this helps!

Thanks for the info, truck looks great by the way. That's the first one I've personally seen with 275's on the factory 18's.

That is a pretty big hit to the fuel mileage. I'm looking at either your tires, the Nitto Ridge grapplers or possibly the Michelins, all in a 275/70. The Michelins I'm certain from past experience would offer the best ride with the smallest hit in mpg, but you sacrifice the more aggressive tread and sidewall design of the other two when doing that.
