I've replaced a bench in my 2014 Tahoe with bucket seats from 2011 Escalade. While I love the extra space it provides for a fridge and small console for passengers, I don't find the seat's back very comfortable. They recline, which is a great bonus, however it seems that the lumbar area is very aggressively intrusive. It forces the spine to bend out, particularly while reclined. Seating lower would use up all the knee space, and still not very comfortable.
I wonder if there's any way to tweak the cushion. Maybe trimming the foam? But then leather will not seat properly...
Another option is to swap the hinges with the bench and make it reclinable. The bench seats are just fine in lumbar area...
Does anyone feel what I do and what do you do with it?

We've experienced the opposite. The bench hurt our backs and necks and the buckets are comfy, but my buckets are GMC, not Cadillac. Do the Cadillac seats have lumbar support button like on the front seats?

No, they don't, I'm pretty sure that the seats are the same across the board.
Ok then, maybe it's just me, and the actual passengers will like them.

I believe they are the same save for the leather and stitching for the high end Cadillac models. I'm comfortable sitting back there but they always make me drive! The third row is another story, it is smaller and less comfortable then my old Pontiac minivans. My father and I could sit in that third row comfortably, and they reclined too!

It’s not likely but seat the owner’s manual re: the year/make:model bucket seats you installed and see if there’s and adjustment (bladders or friction) device internal to the seats. Of course you’d also see a manual or electrical controller too.

No, nothing like that. It's just manual recline/fold heated seat...

That’s really weird they made them like Catholic school posture correcting seats. It’s deff worth having a good upholstery shop inquire into their construction and what options you have. It doesn’t seem very Cadillac of them to put out a design unworthy of an individual who would be enjoying a 40oz’r, double cheeseburger and fries or a larger gentleman reaching out the window to borrow some grey poupon.

That's a thing, I'm not as large. Tall, way under 200lbs. The valuable family that will be riding back there are almost twice as small. So maybe a larger person would fit just fine by crushing the lumbar support all the way in, I don't know. Will have a trip of 3000mi in three weeks, with everyone in place, will update then. Hope I didn't do the swap for nothing.
Another thing... Front seats are cloth, manual (the truck is LS base model). I like them very much. Thinking of getting same front seats and marrying them to the middle row mounting brackets. I'd possibly lose the tumbling aspect of the functionality, but I'll get the lateral adjustment capability. Can't believe GM is so behind on that. I took the third row out, so there's lots of space to move the seat back.
