Bought a 2003 GMC Yukon XL a couple months ago, I felt like I had gotten a good deal at the time. Anyways I was testing the 2nd row bucket seats to make sure they folded down fine, to make my list of stuff to repair. The passenger side folded down fine (I wish I knew that was the last time it would ever fold with the lever) but the driver side didn't. After messing with it for a little bit I gave up.

Friend needs help moving in a few days, so i tried the passenger side again. I'm not sure if it comes in different styles, but on mine you have to pull up in one area to get the bottom piece of the seat to fold forward, and then push down the lever for the back of the seat to fold forward. The back is the problem. So I tried to fold forward the passenger side and it didnt work. I noticed a loose wire that seemed to have popped out of a plastic piece on the lever side of the seat, which connected to the other side, which im guessing is where the release latch is. Went to the driver side and noticed that one isnt working because a previous owner removed the entire assembly that hold the wires to fold down the seat. I poked around a bit but cannot find a release lever to fold down the back of the seat. I've heard that you have to replace the entire part that mounts to the floor when its broke, but I dont need this ability very often, and am kind of looking for a quick solution.

I'm just wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to get the back to fold down with broken release wires, or where the location of the release latch is for both sides? If I can get these to fold forward without replacing anything that is fine, I dont need this ability very often and wouldnt mind going behind or under the seats to pop a release lever. Thanks for the help. I can provide pics if needed.
