On my 2003 Yukon on the passengers side second row seat the headrest will not fold down when the deal is collapsed. The other side works fine. I tried playing with the cables under the seat to get the headrest to move but I was not successful. I'm trying to get these folded down since my daughters car seat is pushed forward more when the headrest is up. I'd like to either get it to fold down or to remove it all together.

Has anyone dealt with this before?

Thanks,
Nick

Hey I had this issue too, and the thing that works for me is I have to move the driver or pasenger seat forward to allow the second row seat head rest to fold back. By moving the front seat forward it allows the bottom half of the second row seat to move further back which then releases the cable that pulls the head rest back. Let me know if that makes sense

Here's a great video on how to actually remove your headrest if you want to.

That video would be great but its for the front seats not the second row middle seats. My second row seats do not have that pinhole in there as an option.

I also tried pushing the passengers front seat all the way up to make sure there was nothing pushing against it. That did not work.

Thank you both though,
Nick

after you pushed the front passenger or driver seat all the way forward. Did you take the bottom seat and push it as far back as possible towars the front seat. When you do this you hear a click which is the cable realeasing the headrest. Ill try to make a video to better explain it

Yes I did try and do this but I could not hear any clicks. I also tried pulling on some of the lines/ cables that go to the seat to see if I could get it to release that way and that didn't work either.

Mine had similar issues. Sometimes the plastic covers around the posts get caught on the metal flanges? inside the seat. I actually stuck my finger in the opening and bent the plastic covers back. If that doesn't work, you may have to open it up to see if the cable is still connected. Do you feel any tension on the cable?

Thanks for the tip Chauncey. I do feel tension on the cable, but I will try and take the cover off to see if anything in crimped.
