I just drove home in my new-to-me '05 Tahoe. I finally got my wifes '05 Pacifica paid off and needed a truck. It has 59k, spent it's first year as a demo for the GM at the local dealership, he sold it to his in-laws, they traded it in and now it's mine. Babied since day one and perfect service records, it looks new inside and out.

I've been driving a Saturn  for the last year and a half, I deserve this. Still got the Saturn, it sips gas and is a good run-about for the wife and me.

I am a tinkerer and mechanic at heart and can't wait to start the upgrades. I'm thinking a couple power/performance mods, de-badging(sp) and maybe get the front up level with the rear or the rear down with the front. Toying with the idea of some summer wheels and tires next year, the factory wheels have brand-spanking-new Toyo AT's.

Can't drop any major coin for a while, at least until I get back to work. I am a production line worker at the GMC/Chevy truck assembly plant here in Fort Wayne. We got the summer off, can't beat that with a bat.

It was like this when I got it. The "chevrolet" and "tahoe" badges are still on the liftgate. I've seen others with "tahoe" badges on the side and the trim level on the C pillar. Did my '05 have these and were removed or was the side clean like that when new?

Thank you all for the welcome.

I am originally from Vandalia, OH, just moved the familly here about 2yrs ago. I worked at a Delphi plant just north of Dayton and when they went bankrupt and closed the doors I had to follow the work. Seems the bankruptcy is following me:emotions122:

Were laid-off right now to "adjust inventory" but will be going back mid-July and expect to get some O.T. At least my plant is secure, many others won't be so lucky.

05-06 didn't come with badges on the sides, just the tailgate. The truck looks like it was just driven off the lot. Nice..

04+ Didnt have the "TAHOE" on the sides, and the LS trim didn't have the trim level badge either, just the Z71 and LT did.
