I think there is a lot of overthinking going on in this thread. A larger rotor and more clamping force with everything else being the same and adequate, will result in shorter stopping distances. I upgraded the 2 piston calipers and tiny rotors on my 02 trans am to the 4 piston brembos off the base c7 and the stopping ability, distance and repeatability improved substantially. A properly functioning, properly bled system will function fine with the increased piston surface area but most people won't take care of their brake system and then complain about spongy brake pedal feel.

im interested in the outcome of this. id love a 13.5" front rotor

Me too!

Just as an FYI the pad area of the 2020 silverado brake pad is approximately 15 sqin
I don't have the exact area as i can't find it.
Here are the dimensions of the pad.
Its not perfectly square, so I adjusted the approx area down by 1 sqin, could be more....lazy math.

Length 5.47” (138.78mm)
Height 2.95” (74.92mm)
Thickness .708 (17.9mm)

Here's the PIC

The wilwood 6p pad area with the 14"/16" rotor is 11.1/12.69
Which means the silverado pad has at least a 20% increase in friction, which is really good!

The issue that I've heard some folks are concerned about is clamping force, the ability to apply that friction....and create stopping power.
And that has to be tested.....we'll see.

My current brakes suck and I hate them. I have to give up sooooo much space from the vehicle in front of me that people are always cutting me off....LOL

I am shocked at how huge these are. Lmao. I've never had big brakes before so maybe I'm just new to it but they're about 11 inches across and heavy as hell. Looks like 10 inches but its the angle of the camera.

Between 10-15 pounds each.

Famous last words.....not yet.....
You have to put them on the vehicle unless you're just going to hang them up in the living room...lol

Can you see if they fit on the back and get back? Thanks, you're truly a master mechanic.

Weight?
I know.....more weight with
calipers
rotors
falken wildpeaks @64lbs

All unsprung weight......so sad...my poor wheel hubs are all stressed.

Anyone know if they have speed bleeders for the 2020 calipers?
