So I stopped at the dealer and got the following quotes:

Trans Flush - $199
Rear diff service - $159
Front diff service - $99
Rear diff service - $189

So we're looking at $650+ tax, but the dealer said if done before 50k miles, I will get a "credit" towards future repairs, if I do these every 30k miles, something in the neighborhood of $4,000 for the trans and $3000 towards the differential "internally lubricated parts" , ie, no seals, etc

Who thinks this is a good idea, and who thinks this a wallet flushing?

My friend is a service tech at Ford, and says fluids are good for 100k miles these days.

But I'd like to get any potential trans/differential issues out of the way, before my 5/60 warranty on the powertrain is gone - so if the fluid changes/flushes knocks anything loose, it will still be under warranty.

My concern is resale/and or reliability down the road @ 100k plus miles.

So this would be cheap-ish insurance, as I don't really do any towing, and rarely any 4wd, mostly city driving with the occasional road trip to the Keys, Jacksonville, or wherever, maybe Georgia this fall to see some friends.

So with Light Duty use, would you change out all these? Some or none?

I have a few reservations/questions about this.

1 - Is the credit good at any dealership or just that one?
2 - I think you could replace the fluids in both differentials and the transfer case for less than the cost to do one of the items. The transmission flush, might be a little premature but might be worth it as long as that also covers replacing the filter.

Some will agree and some will disagree but I would follow the maintenance schedule in the owners manual. If you decide to have it done you could buy everything online and do it yourself. It would certainly save you some money.

You ought to run a severe service schedule, fluids are cheap insurance. Your transmission has a thermostat that causes it to run at or near the same as your water temp, 195 degrees ALL the time. I had my trans fluid analyzed and it had 10K miles of life left in it at 36K miles.

Your front and rear differentials can go longer, the transfer case if you have a 4x4 takes the same fluid as your transmission, cheap insurance to drain and fill it too. We have the same transmission but mine does not have the thermostat so it runs cooler.

you must mean transfer case service instead of rear diff twice?
at any rate it's good maintenance procedure, I don't care what the ford guy said if the fool wants to run it to 100k let em, I wouldn't even consider it.

Ditto for the change fluids and have cheap insurance. At the minimum I'd do the transmission fluid change (flush and filter). Just because the MFG states a change interval doesn't mean that changing early isn't a benefit. I'm looking at scheduling a transmission fluid change and don't quite have 15K miles on my 2019.

Yes, correct.

I think I'm going with the trans/transfer case and see if I can either do the differential myself or find a better price.

But I kinda want the dealer on the hook for warranty-ing the transmission and transfer case.
