Hey everyone,
What I have is an 05 Tahoe Z71 5.3 that I swapped a 4L80E into about a year ago. I completed the swap and used HPTUNERS Pro and segment swapped everything like it should be. The trans has been perfect for almost a year now, BUT here lately I noticed that if it sits for about three to five days then when you start it up and shift into reverse, it has no reverse gear until you rev it to about 2k and let it return to idle then you can sort of feel it go into reverse gear. NOTE it only does this after sitting for a few days, drive it every day and it wont do that...Almost like the pump has no fluid for a min until you rev it and cause pump psi to raise(my best guess). I am a Master tech, but I don't do much auto trans work at all. Now, after I started noticing that issue I started hearing a ticking noise now and then best described almost like a cracked flex plate or something to that nature. It made this noise at first when started cold, now it makes it all the time. start the car and it starts ticking, doesn't matter the gear selector position although when you manually shift through the gears sitting still you can here a momentary sound change then right back to the same sound. In park or neutral, you can raise the idle to around 2k and it will go away, but as soon as it comes back to idle its right back. Drives perfect though... Any Help or suggestions would be great!!
