4WD mode

The Tahoe has the selector knob to switch from 2WD to 4WD auto, etc. What position do most people drive around in? I understand in poor weather 4WD would be the choice but just curious.

I woud run 2WD most of the time and as you mentioned, in heavy rain or bad weather I would run 4WD Auto.

In real bad driving conditions (off-road, heavy snow) I would run 4WD, while 4LO should not be needed until EXTREMELY bad conditions.

Never use 4WD on the street unless it is slippery conditions. On a 4WD it will lock the front axle, make it hard to steer, wear out suspension parts and put a big strain on the 4WD assembly. Always use 2wd unless you need 4WD in auto or not. The AWD trucks are different than the 4WD

i keep mine in 2wd. the previous owner of my vehicle kept it in auto all the time and it really messed with my 4wd. It works now that we got it fixed but for awhile we had to leave it in 2wd and couldnt move it out. we actually disconnected it haha. just keep it in 2 until you get off road.
