4wd whining noise

Tried to post in another message and it wouldn’t let me add photo. Trying here again.

Replaced driver side half shaft seal at front differential thinking it would make whining noise go away. Put fresh fluid in differential and back together. Still hearing whining noise when 4wd engaged at 35+ mph. Noise goes away when in 2wd. Is the whining coming from the front differential?29a311c0d2ba5893038cbc31a2a639ea.jpg

Sounds like mine before it shit the bed.

Front diff issues on these vehicles, are, unfortunately common. Normally I'd say take the cover off and start inspecting, but the way these things come apart; it's not an option. Bide your time and replace/rebuild it at your convenience
