There are two 6.0L. LQ4 and LQ9. Depending on the performance up grades would depend on which one I would choose. But it is aastraight forward swap. In and out and tune.
I am putting in the LQ9 and 4L65E and tuning. That's it.

I ran mine untuned for a few months with no issues ( it will run and drive no problem). Now its BB tuned definitely worth the money.

Since its all coming out anyways, I would recommend the 4l80e swap. GM rated the 4l60e at 350ft-lbs and the 4l65e (a "beefed up" 4l60e) at 385ft-lbs in trucks, 400ft-lbs for cars. Even built, they really aren't worth it and don't hold up to big power in heavy trucks. A stock 4l80 can handle pretty close to 500rwhp/tq, and aftermarket on an 80 is endless. Do it once, do it right

There are some quality transmission builders out there that can build a 4l60 to withstand the punishment. I'll be putting a built 60 back in my Tahoe that comes with a warranty. Much of my research shows that an stock 80 will not handle that amount of rwhp/tq (500/500) for long.

FYI...I ran a 6.0 LQ-9 in a 2005 Escalade for 200K miles with no issues. Mine was a GSA/FBI Fleet vehicle and came OEM with the 480LE. Transmission failed at 160K miles....rebuilt with HD clutches, gears, etc. Used it to tow 7500# boat....the 6.0 LQ-9 is a GREAT power plant !!
