I decided on going with a 6" Suspension lift for the tahoe. Was debating a 4" or the 6" so i chose the 6". Tahoe currently has a 3" body lift. Now i just need to choose the brand name. I see alot of people going with the rough country 6" or recomending it, but the price shows to be $999.99 + if you want a little extra stuff for the kit. To me that seems real cheap, ive seen other kits for about $1700. Someone enlighten me on the rough country lift please. $1000 just seems kinda cheapo to me... but i could be wrong

I am very pleased with my Rough Country on my suburban. Install is straight forward parts fit great too. I run the Cepek kit (extreme suspensions) on the tahoe and love it too, but the instructions were less than great with that kit. The Cepek kit is taller and I opted for a few goodies like the dual shocks. Heres a few pictures. Both trucks run a 35x12.5" Again the RCX kit gets really good reviews on many forums. Don't let the price scare you, I feel it is quality. and FYI, the 4 or 6" kits are the same just the 6" kit comes with an add a leaf. The kit even comes with brake lines (rubber ones)

The tahoe sits 2" taller in the rear and 3" taller in the front than the burban. Fender measure about 42.5 at all 4 corners on the burban. The tahoe has a little crank done and teh burban does not yet. The differential drop is about 1.25" more on teh cepek kit making it the biggest 6" kit for the OBS trucks. The RCX kit drops the diff about 5.125 or 5.25", cepek a true 6.5"

Thanks, so you would def recommend the RCX 6" kit then... I do like the dual shock tho up front on the Cepek kit. All in all, I wouldn't be disappointed in either one??

You will like either one I think. The RCX price is great though. You going to run a 35"? if so plan on gearing or the truck will feel underpowered

eventually yes, but right now im running 305/70/16s so 33" correct...? Im sticking with these tires till the tread goes out on them. Plus, this is not my daily driver so i think my 33s will do for now after the lift is put on. I think ill just go with the RCX lift.

This is my Tahoe. I have a Superlift 6inch, with 285's (33's). Once I have my shackle flip in, new shocks and 14 Bolt with gears, I'll buy some 315's. Overall, very pleased with my lift.

Hopefully this gives you an idea how a 6inch and 33's looks.

How long have you had the lifts installed? Have you had to replace any bushings on either lift?

Edit** Nevermind on the answering the question about the cepek. i just read that they are discontinued. That sucks.

Guess ill be ordering the Rough country kit. I called one place for pricing on the installation and the lady there was telling me that she has received complaints on the bushings wearing out and needing to be replaced after around 10,000 miles. Is this true??

I wondered if this is because you need to crank the last 2 inches on for the RC for it to be a total 6 inches of lift. Would this be why the bushings wear out quickly?

this lady was telling me that she could get deals on skyjacker, a fab tech, and Zone. (never heard of zone)

Any info would be much appriciated.

Joe

What bushings were they talking about? I've had the cepek for years at this point, no problems. The RCX about 1.5 years with no problems at all.

The RCX drop brackets are a true 5.25" drop, so to get to 6" the crank is only about 3/4", which is less than most people do just to crank a stock truck to level.

I installed my RCX just a couple months ago and I measured.

Thanks for the help. Yall have some nice chevys
