6l80 interchangeably

I have a 2011 Tahoe, I have access to a 2017 6L80, could I use the 2017 transmission in my 2011 if I swap my TECHM and valve body over to it?

I think there are threads on this somewhere for better info, but hopefully someone else will chime in. It was a topic recently if I remember correctly.

I've been seeing this question asked across the forums and have been thinking about it. While not 100% sure, I do believe you are correct, that switching over the Techm and valve body from the 2011 to the newer case will be fine. There might be an issue with pump compatability unless they are identical.

Have you picked up the 6L80 repair manual off Amazon?
