I have new trailer with a 4 pin setup and I want to run it off either my truck (4 pin) or the Yukon (7pin). I'll just tap a 4 pin into the GMC to have both on it. I have heard conflicting info on what color wire serves which function on the GMC. Can anyone confirm the colors on the stock 7 pin?

Thanks ratled

Pick up one of these from your vendor of choice if it fits your Yukon. Plug and play on my '04 to get both 7-blade and 4-pin in the same twist mount connector. Hopkins 40920.

Or you could carry something like this for when you need it:

Lastly, the round connector on the OE 7-blade will come off from the back, and you can match the wires there to the pins on the 7-blade. The functions are marked on the 7-blade lid.

The OE-7-blade can be removed by pushing on the latch and turning it (bayonet-style twist) and pulling it out of the mount, but the round connection behind it will need to be disconnected to fully remove the 7-blade connector.
