Well finally got the truck and had to replace the battery because it had a internal short. Still have to replace the coolant sensor and radio and wash it. I'm planning on restoring it and adding a hitch. Hopefully fixing the body and getting a paint job.

It has a tow brake installed and wiring but no hitch. Have to replace the rear bumper from what you can see in the pictures it's rusted bad. Also the front bumper has a big gap and bent so have to replace it too.

The coolant temp sensor do you guys use tethlon tape or something on the threads when you install the sensor?

Had a truck day. Replaced thermostat and gasket. Also flushed coolant 5 times. Now I have heat.

Changed oil and filter. But noticed the rear blower doesn't work and the front cigarette lighter doesn't work. So have to look to see what's wrong with those.

Truck was a quart low on atf so I added fluid but it came out. Looked under the truck and the Dipstick seal is leaking so got a new one and have to replace it tomorrow and also some light bulbs are blown so have to replace those too. c2cc827817dc30c2a15de39f2586c0c8.jpg

On my 1998 350, and I'm not sure if it's the same for the TBI's, the factory manual calls for GM #9985253 thread sealant and torque to 10 ft-lbs.

Looking at a Permatex catalog, they call their "High Temperature Thread Sealant" as the equivalent to this GM product. I've used it on my ECT sensor without issue. A new sensor should already have the sealant on it, though.
