Just developed a strange problem. When I turn the ignition to the off position, the truck keeps running. It shuts down when I depress the brake pedal slightly. If I take my foot off the pedal, the battery light and ABS lights come on as if the truck was still in the run position. Lol, right now I use a piece of firewood to keep the brake slightly depressed so the battery doesn't run down...any ideas?

Sounds like you have a short in the ignition or on the brake switch. Have you installed anything new? Do you have an aftermarket alarm? if you have an alarm check all the connections going to it. I had one come off and I couldnt crank mine.

Since you say the brake shuts it down, definitely sounds like an aftermarket remote start issue as xanatoast said. Even if you think there isn't something installed, I would be willing to bet that there is. Have seen a ton of used cars sold with systems installed but no remotes to go with them.

Look for anything tapped/soldered into the ignition harness wires behind the knee bolster (namely red, red/wht, pink, orange, white, and brown are the OEM wires that are used) and if needed, disconnect either the wires themselves or unit brain if you can find it. Doing this may disable your starter circuit, so be prepared to reconnect the yellow starter wire out of the same harness if you can't crank afterwards. Good luck.

Well, you never know what's been installed by previous owners, i haven't installed anything on it, myself. Problem just popped up when I got home from work and tried to shut it off in the driveway. I'll take a look under there and see what I can find. I really do not enjoy odd electrical problems...but then, they're all odd problems.

Well, I couldn't find any wires that appeared out of place there, but it did just dump a bunch of snow here and it was getting kinda chilly out there. Gonna take another look tomorrow. Thanks for the quick replies, guys, will be back tomorrow.
