I'm thinking I may have to swap my entire drive train in my truck. I found an engine and tranny out of a 96 Tahoe. Other than the TBI to EFI change how hard would it be to swap these motors? I won't be doing the swap myself I just want to have some kind of idea as to what will go into it.

Swapping the engine itself isn't all that bad. The issue you will have is all the wiring. Have you ever swapped an engine before??

I won't be doing the swap myself. I just wanted to know what will be the biggest PITA for it. Would I be better off just keep the TBI and and leave the wiring as is? I would really rather upgrade to OBDII tho.

How much is invested into the truck already. Maybe sell the 95 to buy a 96 in same or better condition. won't cost as much compared to swaping all that stuff maybe.

That was my plan. To swap the engine and tranny. Sell it in the spring, pick up a 96 or newer by the mid-end of summer.

If I can make it through the rest of the winter then I'll sell it as is. There's no real issues with the truck (as far as I know at this point). This is just a thought that came across my mind.

you could sell it all saying it was a project you could not afford to do or did not have the skills as your sales pitch and use the money to buy the newer one.
