96 hoe oil temp location

I am looking at adding a oil temp sensor to my 96 hoe with 5.7 vortec. My question is how or where do I put the sensor?

I was thinking of buying a adapter plate for the oil filter for adding on a oil cooler and just using on of the hole for the sensor and plugging the other.

how have you guys done it?

you can put it pretty much anywhere...but why do you want an oil temp?

I live in Arizona and do a lot of towing from phoenix to the outer valley and up in the mountains. So it works pretty hard

so i am adding trans temp, oil temp and water temp. Mainly because thats what I am worried about the most as far as fluids go. I already have oil pressure

I guess my question is where on the motor can I put it without having to add a adapter to the filter
