96 tahoe back up lights

I recently bought a 96 tahoe and come to find out that the back up do not work. I tested the bulbs on the battery and they work fine. Short of tearing the side panels apart and tracing the wires is there some where else that I can start that would be better?

Look at the tranny "pack" on the side to make sure it's all plugged in and tight and not shorted there ...
