Also does it try to stay in 4wd all the time?

it clunks like that when i press any button the 4wd switch wasnt working at all till i found a blow fuse for the transfer case i just bought the yukon also i have noticed since that when driving down the road the 4 lo light blinks while i drive even though its in 2 wd

Power from that fuses goes to control mudule for switching and then to the motor. Based on your description it sound like the shifting motor assembly is jamming. Remove it and test while removed to see if you have similar jamming on the motor or it moves freely. If it works fine then the problem is internal to the t-case.

I had a similar issue when I first bought my truck...minus the blown fuse. I opened the switch, and found bad solder connections inside on the board. It used to say I was in either 4hi, or 4lo when it was in 2hi. Resoldered the connections, re-installed it.... job done.

Have you actually checked the actuator? Mine had I similair problem I could hear it and everything. Pulled the actuator out and it was bad. Besides it's easy to check.
