New guy, former Ford Lightning owner, now the proud owner of a 1999 Tahoe 2 dr. I drive truck for a living and wanted something a little more "user friendly" than the 2002 Lightning I owned. It was dynode at 471RWHP/570TQ. But as fun as that was, it was just not that much fun in the rain.
I had owned a '92 full size Blazer, and loved it. I had been searching for a 2 dr Tahoe or Yukon for a couple of years. This one, I purchased in Portland, 300 miles from home. It has the original gold color, no repairs, 20" Denali rims, but stock otherwise.
I have lowered it with Beltech keys and Beltech lowering springs in the rear with KYB shocks. It still needs a decent exhaust system, but runs and drives very well.
Future plans call for a LS motor, probably a 5.3, maybe with a twin turbo setup. I also want to change the cloth seats over to leather with the longer console from a 2000 or newer Tahoe.
I am keeping the 4 wheel drive option, as it has the electric full time option.
I live in Medford< Oregon and would love to hear from any local Tahoe owners. Thanks.
