This afternoon my dad shut the back door on the truck and he said he heard a "cling" Inside the driver side barn door, and the handle to open that door is a free swinging handle and has no use. Long story short, i can open the passenger side door and lock it, but i cant open the driver side one. Any suggestions?

Carefully pull the panel off and figure out what became disconnected. Most likely the rod.

now now kiddos. the panels come off with clips, becareful since most of them will break. or try unscrewing the handle and grabbing the rod to open the door

I was actually asking for Wick3d on any recommendations on how to do it, not you're smart ass remark...

get a flathead screwdriver
get inside your car
pry off the panel with screwdriver
find the rod that should be connected to the handle
reset the bar in the hole on the handle
test it
find something to hold the tip of the rod in place (like an E-clip)
replace the panel

It's self explanatory, just pry the panel off and figure it out buddy.
