'99 Tahoe, intermitten starting issue

My '99 Tahoe has an intermitten starting issue. If I move the gear selector lever around, I can finally get it started so for. It just started doing it this weekend, so have not driven it much since then. Does this require adjustment at a cable end, safety neutral switch or something to correct the problem? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

First guess would be neutral safety switch, unless you feel the gear selector loose. It may not be getting exactly to where it has to be. Try starting it in neutral a few times. Post up results.
