99 Tahoe OBS Electrical Question

Since I had to replace my 94 FS Blazer (rip - rusted in pieces) I picked up a 99 Tahoe LS. It has some different things which is a nice change but some I don't care for.

I already read up on and plan to disconnect the DRLs and had a question about the wiring of it.

I know it's already set to be 'ignition on' so can I use the wiring out of the DRL module to wire something else into it? I want to install a remote turn off switch for my amp and I figured I could get use out of the wiring.

Am I off base on this analysis?

While the drl relay trigger wire can be use to trigger another relay, you can not just pull the drl relay out or splice in because you will sever the headlight switch to bulb wiring or damage it somehow. Use the radio remote amp wire to turn your amp on for you.
