So I've been reading for a while and searching non stop and I believe I have the notorious PASSLOCK issue. A little background..
Bought the truck with battery draining issues and a "crank but no start" issue. It sat for almost 2 years like this. I bought it, put a battery and alternator in it, it started and ran. Went to start it a week later and it would crank, start and immediately die. Put a new fuel pump in, with the same result afterwards. I let it sit for a few days and tried to start it and it proceeded to start and run without issue. I failed to mention it needs all new rubber up front so I began to address the left side by installing new upper arms (ball joints and bushings) and then moved the truck so the wife would quit barking.
Few weeks later, I went to clean out the door hangs, vacuum the truck, etc. After night fall, I noticed the interior lights on. I figured perhaps I had jiggled a door jamb switch and that was the cause of the battery drain I was advised of from the previous owner. Few days later, I jump started the truck without issue.
I got the rest of my parts in last week, went to start it, battery dead. Tried jumping it and nothing. Switched to a known good battery from my Yukon and still nothing. Not even cranking. Now from what I've gathered between the symptoms of it immediately dying after initial start (after my fuel pump install), and what I seem to be dealing with now, all things point to PASSLOCK? But here's the deal.. I no security light. I bought the truck from the original owner and it came outfitted with some wood grain dash that also has an insert behind the plastic covering my instrument display (i can provide a picture). As I type this, I'm doing the "re learn key procedure" that I know works for VAT issues from a previous F body I owned. I'm somewhat mechanically inclined and ready to start testing circuits if anyone can help. I've tried 3 keys with no success. Anybody out there with helpful input?
