Well it has been almost a week and my baby is sitting it the yard. I have tried everything that I can think of to get this thing started. I shot starter fluid in it and still nothing. I really don't think I'm getting any fire from my plugs. I came across a couple of forums and notice someone stating something about the crankshaft position sensor. Has anyone ran across this problem and the CPS was the problem?

What is the condition of the coil? Rusty, dmg, or do any of the edges look burned. Pull one of the plugs out and leave it connected to the wire and hold onto the boot just tight enough with a pair of pliers to hold it and make sure the metal body is touching the engine and have someone crank it over. If your getting spark you will see it. If your getting spark and starting fluid didnt get it to pop for atleast a few seconds. Then check the cps and the cam sensor. However since your description is a little vague when you stated "still nothing" with starting fluid it doesnt even try or it tries but not enough to actually start.

What are the exact symptoms you are experiencing? When you turn the key do you get a click? No sound? Does it try to turn over but just doesn't? Dash lights on? My starter recently went out on my 99 Denali. It's a darker simple repair. The part is $100 on Rockauto and there are plenty of videos online to show you how to remove it. It's just two bolts and two electrical connections. Also, check both of your battery connections as this could be an issue as well.

I came home today and changed the crankshaft sensor, and my baby fired right up. Service engine light shut off.now I can rest easy.
