A/C blows warm at idle

Converting To electric fans will help some but I still have the issue on real hot days on my 02 even after I did that. It’s a common enough problem on the NBS that GM came up with an auxiliary electric fan for the condenser itself, there’s a TSB on it but it looks like a hassle.

02 Texas Yukon. Warm air coming out of vents Compressor running five seconds then off over and over. New Pressure switch installed still cycling on and off. One 20oz.can of A/C Pro Still warm air. Condenser is clean. Compressor bad? Worked great last summer. Tried holding rpm's at 1500-2000 made no difference. No leaks.

You fellas can tell a lot about your ACs condition if you know your low and high side pressures.

The new recharge cans like A/C Pro have a gauge that works pretty good.

Not really sure got side tracked with this fuel filter thread. You cannot believe the problems I had last week with getting my fuel to stop draining so I could replace my fuel filter. Tried everything I could think of decided that running the tank really low had to stop the fuel we will see tomorrow.

Just for the hell of it--did you remove the fuel pump fuse? Also maybe crack the engine compartment shrader valve to bleed off the pressure.

Yep Fuel Pump Relay. Not a pressure issue it's a rare flow issue coming out of the tank that even on ramps would not stop fuel from running not dripping out of the fuel tank line going into the filter.

I wonder if that would have something to do with venting. Like if the gas cap was no good it could let air rush past the seal and air gets into the tank helping to push the gas out--gas flowing through the line continuously. Just a theory. Plausible?

Or if the canister vent valve was stuck closed and was allowing the fuel tank to build a little pressure as the fuel temp changes.

What is the gauge good for?

It doesn't give pressures on both sides (which is a major way to diagnose problems) and certainly doesn't reveal if the system is properly filled or not.

After watching my father try to destroy two cars with those little cans, I went out and bought a manifold and vacuum pump and do it right.
