I was just curious if anyone has installed an a/c bypass pulley and how they went about removing all the a/c lines? Just want to make sure I can remove the whole a/c system without problems? Thanks!!!

This is in regards to a 1997 Yukon 5.7 2dr.

Don't just want to just leave it turned off?

I would prefer that but the whole a/c unit it junk and the compressor pulley is sqeeling like no other. I just want to remove the whole a/c system and I want to make sure if I do, that there will not be any issues for normal running conditions?

The pulley would cost less then forty and it bolts in place of the compressor no belt swap should be needed. Home your system discharged and evacuated just incase you might want to redo it one day(it might help with corrosion control internally). cap anything that will stay in the vehicle and tie down all related harnesses and you should be just fine.

Appreciate the help but there will be no need for future use of the a/c. I am removing all of the a/c components from under the hood for future modifications. I just wanted to make sure the a/c/system has nothing to do with running properly. It'll probably run better without it anyways, even though it runs great now. If you have any other advice please share. Thanks again!!!
