For several months now I've known that my mode acutator is bad... air would only blow out of the defrost vents, occassionaly would get stuck on just the top vents (currently), no matter what setting I have it on. However, on a road trip this past weekend I noticed a few more problems:

1) No recirculation. In the past when I push the recirculation button the amber light on the button would come on, I'd hear a little sound, and the air would blow a bit faster out of the vents. A/C would also get very cold, noticably colder at 60* than without the recirculation on. Last weekend I noticed the recirculation is no longer working. When I press the button the amber light comes on but that's all, its still pulling outside air. Recirculation acutator? Would the little amber light still come on if the actuator was bad?

2) No heat. I had my A/C set to a nice cold 60* and once I cooled off I turned the temperature knobs each up to 72-75ish... no change in temperature. Turned them up to 80, still no change (cold 60* air blowing). I turned the compressor off and cranked both knobs to 90* just to see and all I was getting was fresh air from outside (at the outside temp), no heat. As mentioned this is occuring on both the driver and passenger sides. Basically I either have the choice of fresh air from outside or cold A/C, no adjustments to temp and no heat.

I tried the recalibration procedure but no luck.
