Not sure if this is the right place for this question?

This isn't a problem on my Yukon but instead my 2004 6.6 Duramax silverado 3500. Feel like I'm chasing my tail with this maybe someone here can help

Im Having issues with the A.C. that I cant figure out. Sometimes the A.C. compressor will come on and sometimes it wont. I've checked the Freon (its good) jumped the low pressure switch (that didn't help) checked the breaker in the fuse box under the hood ( seems fine) If I start the truck sometimes the compressor engages and sometimes it wont. If it does it will blow cold air, if I shut the truck off and go to restart it wont work almost every time..

I have the digital control. Every time i press the A.C. button the snowflake light comes on but the compressor will randomly engage regardless of the light being on.

The outside air temp sensor seems fine as the outside thermometer reads accurate.

I did pull the air temp sensor from the headliner. The fan on it was still working. Not so sure that's the problem as the truck is still doing the same thing without the sensor installed.

Yesterday I ended up changing out the breaker under the hood even though it tested good. I figured the problem was random and they are relatively cheep so why not. With the A.C. activated but not engaging with the old breaker I replace it with the new one and Bingo it works. I disconnect and reconnect it several times , it works every time!!!.

I go and make dinner, have a drink to celebrate, go out just to try it one more time ,,,,

and it DOESNT WORK!!!!!!

stumped

Any help is appreciated!

You wil probably have better luck posting in the 2004 section as this is the 2015 section. Good luck.

There is also "General Information" "Other Vehicles."

Or "GM SUV/Crossover Models".

A quick thought...sounds to me like the clutch on your compressor is going out...my dads truck had this problem sometime ago...intermittent engage/disengage of the cores or and it was the clutch assay in the compressor.

Mine ended up being the climate controller. On mine the snowflake light would come on but sometimes the compressor would engage and sometimes it wouldnt. When the compressor did not engage i pulled the relay under the hood. When i reconnected it there was no "click" so i knew there was no power even making it to the relay. This told me the issue was before the relay. After researching there really wasnt anything else it could be other than temp sensors or a bad wire.
