Now for my second issue.......:) 97' Tahoe

My A/C doesn't work. When I push the AC button on the climate control panel, the LED doesn't come on and it doesnt blow cold air. The compressor does not turn either. I am wondering if it is because there is no power getting to the compressor or if the compressor itself is bad. Is there a certain direction to go in trouble shooting this? What would you recommend? I have checked the fuses and they all are good. Thanks again!

Sorry for my ignorance, but how exactly would I test the button with a volt meter? I have noticed that my fan works however it always comes out the dash vents even when the defrost is on alone.

Check for continuity. in the on positionit will have it and off it wont. Plenty of how to's on how to use a meter online. each is different. Have you check to see if the system even has freon in it? There is a pressure switch that wont allow the compressor to turn on if there is no freon in it. Most places will do free inspections, or you can get a cheap guage or have someone check it for next to nothing. The other sounds like the vacum controlled valve is either stuck, the door is stuck or a vacum leak.

Thanks so much for the info! I will let you know how it comes out.
