Anyone know if maybe I have a drain plugged??

If my truck sits for a few days, and I turn on the AC, the air really smells mold-ish.

Anyone have any thoughts??

when you run your a/c do you get a water puddle under the truck? or does your passenger side floor get wet?
Also sometimes condensation will build up in the vent ducts and cause a musty smell at first but it should go away...

The smell you are getting is due to the condensation on the evap core. When the A/C is running, condensation builds up if there is high humidity outside. You get a mildew smell because when you shut off the vehicle, the condensation sits on the outside of the core and grows mildew like you get in your shower. There are a few different ways to fix this, the spray mentioned above, any kind of household spray like Lysol will work to. The fix from your dealer will be a re-program of the BCM to run the fan for a few mins after shutdown or instalation of a device called an after blow module which will run the fan after shutdown. You can do the same as the after blow mod by turning the temp to full heat for about 1 min. before you shut off the vehicle, it will cause the condensation to dry on the evap core. I used to work for Delphi Harrison at the Service technology group bldg. at the GM Tech center in MI and we studied many different ways to solve this problem. It really only happens in hot humid climates during the summer...

is the smell moldish or burning? I got a letter last month saying there was a recall on some Tahoes for a burning smell or smoke coming from vents. I don't remember all the info or requirements to getting it fixed. I've never had and issue so I just ignored it. You might want to do a little research with recalls...

I finally tracked down this stuff. It worked great for about 10 days, now it is back to the way it was before. Any suggestions? It also seems that my AC is not getting as cold as it once was, in that sometimes while driving (no standing) it gets really humid when I have it set to like 70.

Maybe your freon is low, might want to put a gauge on and test it out. Mine was a little low last week. Shot in a can and the thing blows snowballs again.
