A/C turns on when truck is started

Hi all,

I just bought a nice bright red 2001 Yukon XL. Whenever I start the truck, the A/C turns on. I can turn it off with no problem. I don't have the climate control.

Anyone have suggestions on how to fix it?

Do you have it switched on before you start or the defroster on?

I have a 94 Tahoe temperature sensor went bad, smoked the heads. 200,000 miles, well let's just rebuild. Less than 200 miles temperature sensor melts blows head gaskets, yes both haven't taken it apart yet hoping I didn't smoke the heads again. This happened suddenly as the first time. WTH is going on. Was on highway no warning, no pinging no nothing just bam overheated. Have 1500$ invested in rebuild, don't want to screw this motor up. Hope I am posting this correctly. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Confounded

A/C is off and in almost all cases defrost when engine is shut down.iI haven't tried it with A/C on at shutdown.

Any thoughts on this? Would replacing the panel with the controls be likely to fix this?
