2005 XL. Heat on in the front. Heat on in the back. Open the hood and the condenser and lines frosty cold ?!?!?!?!?

does your 2005 have automatic controls, like the digital a/c control? if so then I think those are designed to run both systems at once, the a/c would act as a dehumidifier in the automatic system

Makes sense as while it's way too cold (Orlando) for A/C (we have the HEAT on) --- it's 50's and raining all week!

I remember a discussion about this before... I know that on mine, if I hit the AUTO button (I have the digital CJ2 controls), the snowflake comes on. I think you're right about why.
