So shortly after I bought the truck the ABS and brake lights came on. the dealer i bought the truck from had an abs sensor replaced. It worked ok for a couple days, then it came on again. They determined a defective sensor. Replaced again all good for a couple days then it came on again and mysteriously went off.

Then the other day JUST THE ABS light came on, no brake light.

Any ideas? I've googled and I've seen maybe the BCM module is bad?

Did it maybe have something to do with my automatic light disable mod?

EDIT: Mods please move to 2000-2006 section..my badd :)

I would check the corrosion on the top of the hub bearing on both sides. Remove any corrosion down to bare metal and repaint with a thin coating of rust resistant paint and reinstall the sensors. Often corrosion can cause just enough clearance issues between that sensor and the magnetic gear inside the hub bearing to make it go off and on on it's own leaving you with an ABS light. This could also mess with the brake light if the ABS is trying to mess with the braking but not getting a good signal.

i can tell you 100% I hear buzzing in the morning when she is cold from sitting over night but that is the auto ride compressor out back I am assuming...

I will listen tomorrow morning when I go grocery shopping :)

its not intermittant its a constant. it can and will drain your battery. you are probably correct on hearing your compressor
