Hey guys I'm new here, I did some searching around the last few days but can't find my answer. I'm hoping you guys can steer me in the right direction.
I have a 1999 Tahoe LT square body style. I was getting the issue where my ABS would kick on at 5mph on dry pavement. I pulled both sensors out, cleaned and reinstalled. I instantly got an ABS light which I never had before and I also haven't had the issue I was previously having which is leading me to believe that I damaged the sensors and simply have no ABS anymore?
One thing I noticed while pulling and cleaning the sensors was one of them was all plastic and the other was a copper coil. I'm assuming they both should have the plastic and the one just got stuck in there and I pulled it apart while removing.
Could this be enough to damage the entire ABS system? Would I need to buy 2 new sensors?
Thanks for any help.
P.S. I have not pulled any codes yet...
