Every once in a while my 03 yukon starts dinging and flashing the abs indicator on my dash. It is random and does not happen that often. what could it be?

Thanks!

Sometimes it can be an indication or a bad hub. Worth checking for slop.

Funny thing Front wheel bearings. I got an 01 4wd I swear the front right is going No slop in the wheel check, and no flashing random abs light.

But I can here a slight howl when driving at highway speeds sounds like aggressive tread noise except I do not have aggressive tread. If I bear left the noise gets louder if I bear right it quiets down.

I thought about carrier bearing but fluid is clean, and the noise change when turning seems odd for that, and I do have a very slight shimmy in the steering wheel.

It would seem if a wheel bearing is going you would think it would pull to the direction of the bad one do to more friction. But I never notice that as a symptom in the diagnostics of a bad one.

yea i never had a shimmy at all either.

i found my problem by removing the abs fuse cause i thought the noise was my abs activating due to a faulty sensor or something and when the noise continued i figured it out.

was actually missing to 2-3 bearings from the races

For me nothing yet. I keep doing the slop check on the wheels to see if they are getting loose, and no slop. I have read carrier bearing can be an issue. hoping that is not the case front diff fluid is clean. So I'm holding off on the hub replacement for now to see if it gets worse.

I did post a question about being able to spin the front tires while one front tire is off the ground when vehicle is in 2wd, and park because I can not on the passenger side. Getting conflicting info if it is right or not. I'm thinking if both fronts are jacked up tires should spin opposite directions.

I do not like throwing parts at a problem that i'm not sure is going to fix the problem. Right now I'm thinking drivers hub but its tight. So that leaves the front diff. Unless a rear bearing is resonating through the drive shaft making sound like its coming from the front. But if I bear right with the steering the noise gets a little louder if I bear left it quiets down. So I'm still enclined to think its my drivers front hub. I do not know if a bad carrier bearing would react to steering like that.
