AC blowing hot air!

Last fall my AC worked great, only thing i've had done was replaced both heads, so I took it to the shop today and they said it has plenty of freon, everything was working. The mechanic said it's not switching from heat to ac? Do I need to replace the computerized climate controlled panel?

Thanks, just got the part for 88.00 shipped from rockauto.com. Looks like a common problems on these vehicles.

Correct, more so than the controller.

I had to replace the same part on my Tahoe when I purchased it, it was stuck in cold mode during the winter time so the defroster will not work. I had a friend install it for me and it fixed the problem he said it was a common issue.

On my way to work this morning my Yukon was blowing hot. I turned it on then back on and it blew cold. I an going to replace the blend door like you guys are saying.

It is not the blend door, it is the actuator. That is likely but not always the problem. Very common and could be controller but lean more toward the actuator. The door can be a problem too if bound up but is very rare.

Check you tube for replacement steps.

Go through the learning mode with actuator in your hand and see if it cycles. I had done an extensive write up on the rear (if you search with my handle) with good description of how to adjust them.

If it cycles back and forth, then it is working. Your next step is replacing the controller. They typically go bad and there is a new part number (on rear anyway). I think it is same for front and rear.
