Good afternoon. It seems I have a leak at the junction where the orifice tube is. Will replacing the orifice tube solve my problem? I'm assuming the O-ring is shot. Is there and o-ring in that junction as well? Thanks in advance.

The orifice tube does not seal the line. There is a separate o-ring that you will see when the line is removed.

Thanks!
No more leak, but the a/c still isn't cooling. The pressure seems good, the compressor seems to be running and the clutch is functioning. I let the air run on full blast for 10+ minutes and had no condensation dripping and the lines didn't feel cold. What else can it be? Thanks in advance.

Who charged the system? It needs to be vacuumed down to remove the air.

The compressor should be cycling on and off periodically. Is the low side suction line ice cold or warm? Is it icing up?

You can try spraying the condenser with cool water to chec for a lack of airflow through the condenser fins.

What are your pressures at idle

I charged it with one of the bottles from AutoZone. The compressor does cycle on and off. The lines aren't icing up at all. I'm not sure of the numbers for the pressure, but the needle now stays in the suggested range on the gauge.

You need to vacuum the air out of the system. These systems hold 2lb minimum I believe those cans are only 1lb. You really should just have it serviced at a shop. If the air is left in the system any moisture will combine with the a/c oil and form an acid.

Thanks for the input. I think I'm going to take it in to the shop.
