I just used a can of freon to recharge my ac in the suburban from completely dead. Well the compressor kicks on but it's winding loud and the air is still warm inside. Anyone know what to look for next to try to fix the air conditioner.

get a gauge set to properly charge it. it can help tell if there is enough freon and help find malfunctions in the freon system. you added one can which was enough to get it to come on correct? does it stay on or does it cycle? if it stays on it may not have enough. was the system just low on freon or was it open to the atmosphere at one time? these are questions that should one should always try to have a possible answer for. can you help with any of those or were you left in the dark of its condition? it is possible you may have to discharge your system and start the recharge process over and evaluate from there if itis still malfunctioning.

It stays on. When half the freon went in it was cycling after the full can it stays on. I'm going to take a video of it and post it

I think it is best if you get a gauge set or take it to an a/c shop. I think this may be more then just recharging the freon. just to prepare you.
