Have an 07 Tahoe 5.3 flexfuel with the regular shift lever and would like to add the manual shift lever with buttons to it and it actually work. These things come in handy when you tow and would like to get mine upgraded if possible. After looking around on line I found that the lever is pretty easy to take off and install but dont know for sure what all goes into adding the manual lever to work. Things like programming? electrical pigtails already existing? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Unless you have the 6 speed transmission, it will not work. The actual shift lever will bolt right on, but it will not manually shift the transmission because the 4 speed transmission doesn't have the capability to do that.

If you do, grab one off a 2010+ LTZ. You get the chrome cap on the shifter.

That's the one I was going to get if this was a functional part, but even so like I said if I am able to come across one some time I am going to try and get the leather covered one, I'm not big into chrome, lol a mesican not into chrome kinda funny, but never have been. If it does have chrome ill try and paint it to match the exterior. I want to paint the dash trim to match exterior as well. Might try this summer with some rattle cans, but we will see.
