I daily drive a 2003 Yukon SLT 5.3L with about 200k miles on the original power train. I just installed a Corsa Sport Cat-back exhaust (14231) and an AIRAID Jr. CAI. I haven't driven it too much, but have gotten in the neighborhood and highway driving. It accelerates more, sounds amazing (if you are impressed by youtube videos, you'll have a heart attack when its in your drive way), and runs better if not no different then before.

Now, obviously the engine is getting and sending much more air than before. I haven't noticed any "fault" in this, but then again I am not exactly sure what I am looking for to detect an issue there. Should I go about getting it tuned, or what should I look for as indicators? And, are there any alternatives to Black Bear for tuning that are still well qualified and liked? I would love, love, love to drop $500 on a BB tune, but that is somewhat difficult after getting a Corsa. At that, should I just wait and save up for a good BB tune?

Thanks for the help guys! I don't post much, but I scour this forum daily. This is an awesome place.

Save up for the BBP tune. It shouldn't cost $500 if you rent the efi live cable or look for an in person tune you will not regret it. Justin is super knowledgeable and my truck is 10x more fun to drive after getting tuned.

Black bear is awesome, but I use a local Dyno shop for my tunes. You don't need a tune yet. It will not hurt but I'd wait if you plan on doing headers, fee flow cats, E-fans, bigger intake, or heads & a Cam.

If I did a BB tune now, then got headers in a year, would I be able to re-tune for a cheaper price or free? Or is it just a whole new tune?

I've been saying "No, no... no need for headers..." but Gibsons are just looking really nice right now.

Thanks for the link Nathan, but that is for AutoCal. Does that policy apply if I'm not purchasing or even using AutoCal?

Z56, I've seen that X-pipe exhaust is preferred with LTs, and I don't have that. Having what I've got won't have a negative impact, correct? Also, what is a brand or two you'd suggest?

Yes, tune updates are free on all tune options.

Thanks Jenna. Looks like a BBP tune is next on the list!
