Indeed he did. The fact that I couldn't detect any play at the 12 and 6 kept me from changing it right away. I still think that was odd.

It's near impossible to detect .005" of movement with your hands and eyeballs. Need a dial indicator. That number is the maximum amount of play allowed.

I incorrectly assumed that in order for a wheel bearing to cause that type of vibration there would be noticeable play. Now I know.

If I were you I would do the other wheel bearing as well. U will then have known good parts and it will help with alignment. I replace my bearings every 100k miles regardless of noise. Consider them wear items..same with water pump.

Yes I intend to replace the other side in the near future if I still have the hoe. I have been looking for something newer lately but haven't found anything I like.
