No AFM on the L9H. Look at the valley cover under the black plastic intake, it'll be smooth on an L9H. A lumpy one is the VLOM for AFM.an l9h I did not know that no afm ?
Not until you have exhausted all the easy and cheap ways to look for the sources of the problem.not hot , started with loud ticking followed up with no compression in cyl 7 . are you recommending pulling the head or both heads with the mileage?
Shine a light down the #7 intake port and see what it looks like.Should I just consider pulling both heads off? I already have the intake off. The top end rebuilt at 190000, is that a good idea or too much extra work and expense? Could I wait it out another bunch of miles and then decide what to do when the time comes? I think it depends entirely on the condition of the one head, that should be the deciding factor. More importantly, can I avoid removing the head by some miracle?
