Hello, I just ordered an Air Lift 1000 setup for my 2003 Yukon. I was looking over the fuse boxes today to try and find a vacant slot that is 20 amps. The interior fuse box, which is wear I'd ideally like to run the power from, seems full. In the underhood fuse box, I think I might have found a candidate. It's labeled as HID in the manual, but I'm not sure if it is powered only when the ignition is on. So basically what I need is a power source of at least 20 amps that is only under power when the key is in the run/on position. Any ideas?

I am thinking of installing the same kit on my hoe. I would have thought they would have explained that in the instructions but guess they want us to figure it out ourselves. Will be following to see if you get a reply.

maybe im out of the loop on this product. But most aftermarket parts are meant to use an inline fuse holder and wire directly to the battery. If you really want to go to the fuse box I would think it would be a lot of work. But if you use an open fuse pox position, wire from the hot buss to the fuse position and then from the fuse to the device. I wouldnt add a 20 Amp load to a keyed circuit unless its on a relay. You run the risk of killing something or burning it up. 20 Amp is a lot of juice. Also, if your powering a air compressor you want a dedicated line to the battery with larger gauge wire do reduce voltage drop and get good performance out of the compressor.
