I'm confused what to run as some places say run the same as oem, some say run 35psi some say run 45psi as it will help protect the rim...

I tried 45 psi and it rode like a wooden wagon. I then tried 35 psi and it was a day and night difference to 45 psi but not sure if that's correct for a 295/30/26 tire with that low profile.

I agree that more pressure protects the rim, so today I put in 40 psi. Did not test it yet...will update.

I suggest that you contact the tire manufacturer's Support team and ask them for their opinion for your specific tires and your truck.

When I installed my Michelin 305/50x20 tires on my stock wheels, I contacted Michelin, as the tire size was not standard for my truck. They told my to use 33psi on their tires, which was the same pressure recommended by GM for their stock tires. My truck rides great.

A well experienced custom rim shop told me I can use anything from 35 psi to 42 psi, with 35 psi being a softer ride for that size BUT higher risk of getting bent if I hit a big pothole OR higher pressure up to 42 psi for a stiffer ride but more rim protection against potholes, etc...

So I tried 42 psi... definately not my cup of tea lol. I came back home and put it at 36 psi and will take my chance lol. Our roads here are not super bad but also this is NOT my daily and even if I go on a highway trip for anything over 100 miles I put my "oem" winter wheels on :)

I debated on just doing 24's but man it looks so much nicer on 26's with leveling kit :)
