Hi forum,

Yesterday, randomly, the airbag light illuminated itself.

Originally when I scanned I got a B0012-OD code.

And the 2nd time I got a B0012-04 code.

The scanner says the codes relate to the passenger side airbag, but the internet suggests it's drivers side....

Has anyone got experience of this, where do I start?

In case it makes a difference, the passenger airbag was replaced under the recall about 6 weeks ago... No problems until now.

At the time the airbag light illuminated I was performing a TPMS relearn procedure. I don't know how/if they could be related, but who knows.

Thanks in advance!

I had an airbag light a short ways back, code was for drivers side. The remedy for mine was removing the wheel and clocks clockspring wire connections and re-seating them.

I re-seated the airbag connection first and put back together, light came back on.

Tried again but re-seated airbag and clockspring connections, light hasn't been back since.

The code was for a high resistance and could have been a loose or slightly corroded terminal but all looked clean.

My code was B0012

Thanks,

I think my first plan of action is to clean the contacts on the airbag and the clockspring connector under the dash.

At least thats for free.

Now that you mention it, I believe I also re-seated the connections on the driver's side footwell.
