I just bought a 99 Tahoe LT 4-door and it has an Autopage security system on it. I don't know what model system it is (bought the truck from a dealer). Where would I most likely find the control box for the system so I can find out which one I have?

They are almost always buried in the dashboard. If it has a flashing light on the dashboard somewhere take off the panels and follow the light wire you will find a box that says autopage on it and probably some splicing into the ignition switch wiring.

Thanks for the help. I found it. It's an Autopage RF-315. I have found an operation manual online but can't find an installation manual. I need to remove the alarm. It's malfunctioning (randomly goes off for about a second every hour or two) and I have to lock up the truck without the alarm armed. Would like to just go back to the factory keyless entry. How do I remove the thing? I'm assuming I can't just unplug the connections at the control box.

Thanks for the manual. I ended up just unplugging the main plug to the autopage. Everything still works as far as power locks and starting the vehicle. I wasn't sure if unplugging the autopage brain would affect the locks and starter or not.

Take that orange wire going into the alarm and ground it, if the starter is disabled then you will probably want to remove the relay they installed for it or at least seal the wire off. Better alarms often use relays built in to the module for interupters. your doors should be NEG triggered so you should be able to disconnect the whole thing with no trouble again just seal off the wires if the wires from H7 connector ground they will actuate you door locks.
