I got a email today from Onstar stating that the Alexa app was now available for our 2022 Suburban. I went into the vehicle and made sure all the updates were done along with the Play store updated. Still no Alexa app even though the vehicle states everything is up to date. Anyone else get this email from Onstar and if so were you able to find and install the Alexa app?

I called OnStar and they said it was a "rolling update."

Said it will take somewhere around 10 days to get rolled out. In the meantime, I'll be manually checking for updates from time to time.

I know some may not care and level of excitement likely depends on the ecosystem folks have bought into (if any) for their home automation, but I'm anxious to check this out. Hoping it's better than the Google implementation.

Not sure, but after reading the full PR, it looks like it can only be activated by the steering wheel button, or by the push of the button on the front screen, or by both. Hoping they come out with a "wake word" like "hey Alexa..."

What year is your vehicle? We have a 21 Tahoe and a 22 Suburban. In 2022 and 2023 the rigs are now google based with no Alexa app available yet in the Play store. The play store in our 21 offers the Alexa app.

Doesn't it say in my signature?
Oh ok I see you have a 2021. You are one of the lucky ones who did not get stuck with the Google based nightmare for the 22 and 23 models. I love our 22 burb but i enjoy driving the 21 Tahoe more due to the non google interface on everything.

Have to agree. With over a year and 20k+ miles on my '22 AT4 - I'd say the Android based infotainment system is really disappointing both in performance and features. GM's own system was better. Maybe future updates will change that.
