So this is the story. The first time this happened was last Dec. at a coin-operated car wash. I have a 2017 Escalade with 14 K on the clock at this time. After doing a thorough power washing. I had just returned from the cabin which has a five-miles of dirt and dusty road to get to it.
Long story short, I jumped in and hit the start button and it cranks but does not start. I had it towed to the nearest Chevy dealer in town. The service manager told me they got it running. They used some starting fluid and I must have flooded it or had some bad gas. I left as soon as possible.
Contacted some people in the powertrain group at the Milford Proving Ground. The place I had worked as a Durability Test Driver forever. They were not buying the Dealership answer.
Fast forward seven months to the end on July 2018. I hand washed my vehicle in the driveway. As usual, I sprayed the wheel wells and underbody. I started it and backed it into the garage to dry it off. Six hours later I went to run an errand but the crank no start gremlin was back.
Just like the first time it happened it left no check engine light code for the dealer to start with. This time it did start once we got to the dealership after an hour ride. They have yet to replicate the issue
They called today to say that they have been throwing water (250gallons)at it but no luck .
Any help from the community as to what or where to look might be entertaining. have at it!
PS. I also posted a like thread on the Cadillac site. So far no Customer Rep has chimed in.
